About the Program: The HUD Veteran Resource Center (HUDVET) was created as a result of a unique partnership between National Veteran Service Organizations and HUD. It is designed to increase your knowledge of and participation in the wide variety of HUD homeless assistance programs and services for veterans and other individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. HUDVET is a resource center for servicemen and women who have questions about the protections provided by the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act of 1940 (SSCRA). Some of the law protections include: Mortgage Relief, Termination of Leases, Protection from Eviction, Six percent Cap on Interest Rates, Stay of Proceedings, Reopening of Default Judgements.
