Service Description Edit

Provides up to 24 months of transitional housing and support services to 12 homeless male veterans experiencing mental illness, a substance abuse disorder, or both conditions. There is a special interest in serving veterans returning from Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Veterans to be helped by this program are currently living on the street, in abandoned buildings, living in cars or other places unfit for human habitation, or in emergency shelters. The aim of this program is for the resident veterans to live independently, enjoy stable mental health and sustained recovery.Supportive Services:
The Tampa/Hillsborough Project will provide integrated supportive services to address veterans' housing, health and employment goals such as:
-Linkages to benefits and resources
-Symptom management
-Psycho social rehabilitation
-Training, education and employment services-Independent living skills training
